Vellum Books: Upload Your Generic EPUB and Kindle EPUB

When uploading Vellum files to BookFunnel, you will want to provide two files:

  1. Generic EPUB – The Generic EPUB will be used for the BookFunnel App and cloud reader, as well as for all other non-Kindle apps.
  2. Kindle EPUB – The Kindle EPUB will be used when a reader wants to email a book to their Send To Kindle account.

Vellum: How to Export a Kindle EPUB and Generic EPUB

To export both a Kindle EPUB and a Generic EPUB using Vellum:

  1. Open your book in Vellum.
  2. Click Generate at the top.
  3. Click the small menu button next to Generate For.
  4. Select both Kindle and Generic.
  5. Click Continue.
  6. Click Generate.
  7. Click Show Files.
  8. Drag-and-drop both of the exported Vellum folders onto your book details view and BookFunnel will automatically upload the ebooks. You will see a brief error message flash because the folders contain the JPEG book covers, which need to be uploaded separately.
  9. You can open one of the exported folders and drag-and-drop your book cover separately.

How to Upload your Kindle EPUB and Generic EPUB on a New Book

To upload both EPUBs on a new book:

  1. Click the Add button and select Add New Book.
  2. Complete the form.
  3. Click the blue +Add Your Files button and upload your .jpg book cover, Kindle EPUB, and Generic EPUB.
  4. Alternatively, drag-and-drop your files onto the blue button and they will immediately begin uploading.
  5. Click Save and Close.

How to Upload a Kindle EPUB and Generic EPUB to an Existing Book

To add your Kindle EPUB to an existing book:

  1. Click Books and click the Action button next to the book title.
  2. Select Upload New Files.
  3. Click the blue +Add Your Files button and upload your Generic EPUB and Kindle EPUB.
  4. Upload your Vellum-generated Generic EPUB.
  5. Alternatively, drag-and-drop your files onto the blue button and they will immediately begin uploading.
  6. Click Save and Close.
