Add Your Facebook Pixel

The Facebook pixel is an analytics tool that allows you to measure the effectiveness of your Facebook advertising. When someone visits a website and takes an action (like signing up for your landing page), the pixel reports the action back to Facebook, allowing you to reach that customer again through future Facebook ads.

You can add your pixel to any landing page, group promo, personal bundle, or sales delivery page on BookFunnel.

Add Pixel to a New Landing Page

  1. Click Advanced Settings on the page form to open the advanced options panel (it is the panel at the very bottom of the form)
  2. Paste your Facebook pixel ID (the pixel ID will be a long number at the top of your Facebook Ads Manager, not the entire block of pixel code)
  3. Select the Page Load Event you want BookFunnel to send to Facebook at the moment a reader views the page
  4. If creating an Email Required landing page, select the Subscribe Event you want BookFunnel to send to Facebook when the reader submits their email address and clicks through to download the book
  5. Click Save And Close to create your new landing page

Add Pixel to an Existing Landing Page

You can edit an existing page and add your Facebook pixel easily.

  1. Click Books on your BookFunnel dashboard
  2. Click the book title
  3. Click the Action button next to page you want to add the pixel to
  4. Select Edit Page
  5. Click Advanced Settings at the very bottom of the form
  6. Paste in your Facebook pixel
  7. Select the Page Load Event you want BookFunnel to send to Facebook at the moment a reader views the page
  8. If editing an Email Required landing page, select the Subscribe Event you want BookFunnel to send to Facebook when the reader submits their email address and clicks through to download the book
  9. Click Save And Close to save your changes

Add Pixel to a Sales Delivery Action

You can edit a sales delivery action and add your Facebook pixel to the buyer’s private download page. The pixel will fire when your buyer clicks through to the download page after receiving the delivery email.

  1. Click Sales on your BookFunnel dashboard
  2. Click the name of the delivery action
  3. Scroll down and click Edit next to Delivery Page Settings
  4. Scroll down and paste in your Facebook pixel
  5. Select the Page Load Event you want BookFunnel to send to Facebook
  6. Click Save And Close

Add Pixel to a Group Promo

You can add your Facebook pixel to any group promo on BookFunnel that you create.

  1. Click Promotions on your BookFunnel dashboard
  2. Click Your Promos
  3. Click the name of your promo
  4. Scroll down and click Edit next to Landing Page Details
  5. Scroll down and paste in your Facebook pixel
  6. Select the Page Load Event you want BookFunnel to send to Facebook
  7. Click Save And Close

Where can I find my pixel ID?

It is located at the top of your Facebook Ads Manager.

Which Page Load Event should I select?

That depends on what you are trying to track with your Facebook ads.

If you want to track your signup conversion, you probably want to set the Page Load Event to Lead and your Subscribe Event to Complete Registration.

If you are adding a pixel to your sales delivery action, you probably want to select Purchase as your lead event, but it is entirely up to you. BookFunnel will report whichever event you select to Facebook. Facebook offers additional advice here.
