Time Zone Rodeo: What Time Zone Does BookFunnel Use?

Most timestamps and processes on BookFunnel are in Eastern Standard Time (in the United States, not AEST – Australian Eastern Standard Time). There are a few instances where we use UTC or Pacific Time. Details below.

Eastern Standard Time (US)

  • All timestamps in all CSVs (when a reader consents to join your list, when a reader downloads the book)
  • Claim and consent timestamps when a reader is added to your mailing list through direct integration
  • Certified Mail campaigns
  • Pre-order delivery actions begin sending at 12:01 AM EST on release day

UTC (or Coordinated Universal Time)

When you create a promo and set its start date, the promotion will “go live” at 12:01 am UTC on the date you set. This means you can safely tell your authors to share the promo on August 1 and know that no matter where they are in the world, the readers that they share it with can check out the promotion.

Pacific Standard Time

All group author promos will end at 11:59:59 pm Pacific Time.

All landing pages with an expiration date will expire at 11:59:59 pm Pacific Time on the date selected.

Your Time Zone

Receive calendar notifications when you want to! Set your time zone and select what time you want to receive calendar notifications. Learn how to set your time zone for calendar notifications.

Central Standard Time

None of the tools on BookFunnel are in CST, but we are!

We’re scattered across Texas and Iowa, so if you email us at 2:30 am CST, we’re (probably) sleeping and will answer your email soon. 🙂
