Facebook Settings: Add your pixel

Facebook requires users to verify their domain in order to use the Facebook tracking pixel. Facebook will no longer report pixel activity on any website or domain you have not verified, including BookFunnel.com links.

To use the pixel on a BookFunnel landing page, you will create a custom domain and then send reader traffic to you custom domain link. Learn how to verify your domain and use the Facebook pixel on BookFunnel.

Step One: Create a Custom Domain

Create a custom domain that you can verify on Facebook. Once you create your custom domain, your landing pages on BookFunnel will have two links you can share with readers:

  1. Your default BookFunnel link https://dl.bookfunnel.com/pageid
  2. Your new custom domain link https://books.yourauthorname.com/pageid

Once your custom domain is created and verified on Facebook, your pixel will be added to your landing pages. Use your custom domain link when you want to collect pixel activity on your BookFunnel landing pages. Facebook will not report any pixel activity when readers view your BookFunnel.com link. FAQ

Where can I find my pixel ID?

It is located at the top of your Facebook Ads Manager.

Which Page Load Event should I select?

That depends on what you are trying to track with your Facebook ads.

If you want to track your signup conversion, you probably want to set the Page Load Event to Lead and your Subscribe Event to Complete Registration.

If you are adding a pixel to your sales delivery action, you probably want to select Purchase as your lead event, but it is entirely up to you. BookFunnel will report whichever event you select to Facebook. Facebook offers additional advice here.
